History, BA/BS
Offered as a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Major
Studying History is excellent preparation for teaching and advanced study in the humanities and social sciences, law and library schools, and seminaries. The history major also provides a solid foundation for government service, business administration, public history and museum work, and various other areas of communication, journalism, and writing. Courses are geared toward American Government, American and World History, Public Administration, etc., all within the context of a comprehensive Liberal Arts Education. By studying history, students learn vital skills of discernment and synthesis through critical thinking, reading and writing skills.

Interested in analyzing the past and serving as responsible global citizens? Then the history major may be the program for you!
Degree Roadmap
History majors complete courses in both US and World History, and can tailor their course experience to fill their interests. From Latin America to Europe and from the US to Africa, all students have the opportunity to explore stories of people all across the globe.
Capstone
History majors who are within twelve credit hours of completing the history requirements for the bachelor’s degree may register for the capstone experience in which they produce a lengthy and properly documented paper to demonstrate their command of the research process.
